Dear Biometrics,

by Sydney Schofield

Over the last four years you have been my home. You have helped me to better myself as a person, as a friend, and as a coach. You were a place where I could go to laugh, cry and most definitely, sweat. It is a bitter sweet break up. I am moving to Toronto to pursue my Doctor of Naturopathy degree at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. I am very excited for this next chapter of my life, but I am going to miss you all. As my last week of coaching and training here comes to an end I have a few people I would like to thank…

To my 6am’ers

You rock. Your commitment to bettering yourselves each and everyday is admirable. Thank you for showing up with a sleepy smile on your face, ready to learn, and ready to work. I will miss your chirps, your many questions, and our shared sunrises. However, I will not miss the cold maritime mornings.

To our members

From the first time I stepped into the gym as a 1st year student at UNB you made me feel like family. Thank you for the endless amount of homemade meals, sweets, and coffees. Thank you for making the Biometrics community as awesome as it is. Without you our gym wouldn’t be half of what it is today. You make all our competitions, fundraisers and every day group classes as successful and enjoyable as they are.

To our coaches

Thank you for all of the encouragement and advice. I am a better athlete and coach because of you. I’ll miss throwing down in open gym. You all bring a variety of knowledge to our gym and I enjoyed learning from all of you. Keep it up!

To Mark

Thank you for your time. You put your heart into making our gym better for members and coaches. It has been a pleasure to be a part of your beginning with Biometrics. I can’t wait to see where you take it in the future!

I’ll be sure to drop-in whenever I can.

– Syd
